Scott David Rothschild

    Scott David Rothschild, age 59 of Anna, died unexpectedly Thursday, September 21, 2023 at his home. He was born on July 14, 1964 in Brookfield, MO, the son of David and Kay (Penninger) Rothschild.

    Scott is survived by three children, McKenna (Alex) Jacobs-Montes of Midland, TX, Raquel Rothschild (Braden) and Jared Rothschild; grandchildren, Braylynn, McKinley and Alexandra; his parents, David and Kay Rothschild; sister, Mary (Tim) Rothschild-Adams of Jackson, MO; nieces Katlyn Frey of Carbondale and Jocelyn (Andy) Brackett of Colorado Springs, CO; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, a nephew, Colter Frey, special uncles, aunts and cousins.

    Scott was a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church in Anna. He graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale in 1982. In his working career, Scott was a sales representative for dental equipment throughout the United States. While living in Phoenix, he owned his own sales company before moving back to Illinois.

    Scott was a man of many talents and interests. He enjoyed bike riding across the country with his friends. In his early years, he raced as a pro in the flat track series. He also enjoyed hunting and working on the farm. Above all, Scott would like to be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, son and brother.

    Funeral services for Scott Rothschild will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Pastor Mark Hasty officiating. Interment will follow in the Anna Cemetery. Visitation will take place Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at noon at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
