Samuel K. Brim, age 77 of Goreville, formerly of Wolf Lake, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. He was born on June 5, 1945 in Anna, the son of Samuel and Ella Mae (Dirden) Brimm. He married Alice JoAnn Morse on June 11, 1961.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Brim; a son, Samuel K. Brim, Jr. of Jonesboro; two daughters, Annie (Richard) Wade of Goreville and Deirdre (Michael) James of Herrin; ten grandchildren that he affectionately knew as Blossom, Blue Eyes, Handy, Dandy, Baby Girl, Little Girl, Boo Boo, Sweet Thing, Lovin and Fisherman; 36 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Rick Brimm, Mary Strubble, Velma Lyerla, Jack Brimm and Larry Brimm.
Samuel proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He never met a stranger and everyone he met quickly became a friend. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Funeral services for Samuel K. Brim will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2023 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Pastor Mark Hasty officiating. Interment will follow in the Anna Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 and the United States Navy Funeral Honors Team. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2023 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses.
