Obituary

    Randy Baker, age 57 of Alto Pass, Illinois, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023 at his home. He was born June 19, 1965 in Union County Hospital, son of the late Denver and Wilda (Brent) Baker.

    Randy graduated in 1984 from Cobden High School, and after high school he joined the United States Army. He spent some time in Germany before coming home.

    Randy was an over the road truck driver for over 20 years before he had to stop driving due to health issues. His main hobby was tinkering in his garage.

    Randy is survived by a son, Kyle (Heather) Hartung of Murphysboro; four grandsons, Conner, Mason, Camden, and Coltyn Hartung, all of Murphysboro; two sisters, Mary Keller of Anna and Wilma (Wayne) Burtrum of Flint, Michigan; two nieces, Robin (Scott) Duty and Karen (Mike) Smoot, both of Anna; one nephew, Glen (Tammy) Woodby of Flint, Michigan; great niece, Wendy (Will) Dawson of Michigan; two great nephews, Randy Richardson and Evan Smoot both of Anna; great-great nephews, Bo and Brooks Dawson of Michigan;  his caregiver, Mandy Jarvis; other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

    A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden is in charge of arrangements.
