Opal Ulrich, age 94 of Anna, died Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at the Integrity Healthcare in Anna. She was born February 24, 1929 in Karnak, the daughter of John and Ethel (Little) Inman. She married Joseph Augustine Ulrich on November 8, 1947. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2001.
Opal is survived by her daughter in law, Jenan Ulrich of Dongola; grandson, James Joseph Ulrich of St. Louis, MO; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joseph Ulrich; daughter and son in law, Sherry & Darris Ayers; son, Daniel Joseph Ulrich; two sisters, Alice Goins and Edna Tapley.
Opal was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Anna and was very active in her church before her health declined. She was also an active member in the Anna-Jonesboro Garden Club, Poetry Club and Sewing Club. Opal was an amazing baker, she baked every day and always for any occasion she was always asked to bring her famous cake.
In earlier years Opal worked alongside her husband Joe in his construction business building houses. She also worked as the bookkeeper for several years when they owned and operated the White Horse in Jonesboro.
Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Anna with Father Uriel Salamanca officiating. Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery. Family and friends may visit after 9:00 a.m. and until mass at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to the Anna-Jonesboro Garden Club. Envelopes will be available at the church and the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
