Lynda Gayle (Harvel) Newton

         Lynda Gayle (Harvel) Newton, age 62 of Smithland, KY, died Sunday, October 29, 2023 at her home. She was born March 30, 1961 in Carlsbad, New Mexico, the daughter of Fred and Constance (Rose) Harvel.

         Lynda is survived by her mother, Constance Harvel of Jonesboro; husband, Mike Newton of Smithland, KY; daughter, Christina Mull; step-children, Chad (Jessica) Newton, Marcella (Leon) Blankenship; grandchildren, Fred (Tristin) Mull, Jaiden and Layla Santiago, and Sadie Mull; step-grandchildren, Rylynn and Wesley Newton, Tessa and Morgan Blankenship; great-grandchild, Jericho Mull; siblings, Robert “Bob” Harvel of Jonesboro, Jeff (Leslie) Harvel of Jonesboro and Jennifer Harvel of Henderson, KY; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father; son, Joshua Mull; and two brothers, Charles and Clyde Harvel.

         Lynda loved spending time with her family and will be deeply missed. The family would like to give a very special thank you to Mercy Health Hospice in Paducah, KY for all the care and support shown to Lynda and all her family during her illness.

         A come and go celebration of life will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the Anna-Jonesboro Elks Lodge #1641 in Anna.
