Obituary

    Lydia Denét DeRossett, age 23 of Matthews, MO, formerly of Anna, Illinois died Monday, July 24, 2023 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, MO. She was born on September 30, 1999 in Murphysboro, IL.

    Lydia is survived by her daughter, Caterina Azalea Ray Gammons of Missouri; her parents, Loyd Douglas DeRossett of Murphysboro and Emily (Eugene) Hartsock of Anna; siblings, Sophia (D. Harris) DeRossett of Alton, Jonathan (Chelsie) DeRossett of West Frankfort, Samuel (Olivia) DeRossett of New Haven, MI, Gabriella (Ken) Trimble of Herrin, Francesca (Wade) Rieger of Alton; step-siblings, Allison (Dylan) McCann of Anna and Ashley Hartsock of Murphysboro; grandparents, Lois DeRossett of Murphysboro and George and Brenda Miller of Carterville; 10 nieces and nephews along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by a son, Ezekiel James DeRossett and her paternal grandfather, Loyd Clifford DeRossett.

    Lydia graduated from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School in 2018. She enjoyed nature and being outdoors, spending time with her family and friends. She loved her daughter and the Lord. She was a bright light and warm spirit in the lives of everyone that knew her.

    Private graveside services for Lydia DeRossett will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 at a private, family cemetery near Pomona. A memorial service is being planned for a later date. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a trust fund being created for Lydia's daughter, Caterina. Checks can be made payable to Emily Hartsock and can be mailed to 805 Brady Mill Road, Anna, IL 62906.
