Larry Lang

      Larry Lang, age 70 of Jonesboro, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Indiana. He was born April 8, 1953 in Dongola, the son of Junior Laverne “Red” and Doris (Nicholson) Lang. He married Laura Dirden on August 21, 1999 in Anna.

       He is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Laura Lang of Jonesboro; daughters, Jennifer Lang-Hileman of MO and Katherine Lang (Ethan Young) of Anna; step-children, Cecil Humphrey (Candice Betsy) of Anna, Jacob Humphrey of Jonesboro, and Samantha Humphrey; grandchildren, Abigail Smith and Kelsey Hileman of Anna; step-grandchildren, Julie Humphrey and Spencer Humphrey, both of Jonesboro, Leon Humphrey, and Blake Humphrey, both of Anna; siblings, Bev Tanner of Jonesboro, Janet Lang, Joe Lang, and Sam Lang, all of Anna; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchild, Bethany Nicole Johnson, and brother-in-law, Herman Tanner.

       Larry spent his working life as a mechanic for the Anna Quarry and salvaging scrap metal for recycling. He also worked for the State of Illinois and the City of Anna. He will be dearly missed.

      Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the Anna Cemetery. Interment will immediately follow. Those attending are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Homes to help the family with funeral expenses. Envelopes are available at the cemetery and the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
