Joe E. Penrod

         Joe E. Penrod, age 83 of Anna, died Friday, September 8, 2023 at his home. He was born February 19, 1940 in Wolf Lake, the son of Everett and Grace E. (Ballance) Penrod. He married Barbara Jean Cruse on October 25, 1959. She preceded him in death on January 22, 2022.

         Joe is survived by his son, Ricky Joe (Leslie) Penrod; grandchildren, Michaela (Bobby) Sizemore, Colten (Alyssa) Penrod, Mia DeHarpart; great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Piper, and Grayde Sizemore, Drake Penrod and Ella Helton; sister, Patty Hinson; extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Jean Penrod; son Allen Lee Penrod; siblings, Virginia Goodman, Mildred Shelton, Burle, Jimmy and Merl Penrod, Opal Sadler, Helen Dunagan, and Uela Walker.

         Joe worked many years as a truck driver with the Teamsters. He was an avid reader and enjoyed western movies. Every Sunday, you could find him cheering on his pick for that day’s NASCAR race. Joe loved spending time with his grandchildren and will be deeply missed.

         Graveside funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at the Anna Cemetery with Claude Sadler officiating. Interment will immediately follow. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at 10:30, Tuesday at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery and the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
