Geneva Trexler, age 87 of Cobden, died Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Union County Hospital in Anna. She was born on January 20, 1936 in Blytheville, Arkansas, the daughter of Hazel (Fisher) Sims. She married Franklin Delano Trexler. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1996.
Geneva is survived by her children, Thomas, Ricky, Jackie and Marshall Trexler, all of Cobden; Sherry Trexler of Anna and Elizabeth (Sam) Kirby of St. Louis; two grandchildren, Teresa Cavaness and Debra Ward; four great-grandchildren, Mary Jane, Landon and Kamres Cavaness and Cerianna Ward; a brother, Roy (Alice) Sims of Buncombe, a sister, Mildred Sims of West Frankfort, nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, her mother and eleven siblings, Floyd, Boyd “Jack” and Marshall Sims, Lula Mae Donas, Ellen Treece, Wanda Curlee, Barbara Roye, Cathy Glenn, Betty Skelton and infant sisters Mary and Maxine.
Geneva was a member of the Cobden Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed quilting but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Funeral services for Geneva Trexler will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 12, 2023 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Pastor Kevin McNeely officiating. Interment will follow in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 at the funeral home.
