Dorothy J. (Buster) Filter

    Dorothy J. Filter, age 88 of Jonesboro, died Friday, March 31, 2023 at Manor Court in Carbondale. She was born on March 23, 1935 in Union County, the daughter of Walter C. and Dana E. (Mallory) Buster.

    Dorothy is survived by a sister, Joan Miller of Jonesboro; two brothers, James W. Buster of Texas and Richard L. Buster of Colorado; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two sons, Terry L. and Martin D. Filter; her parents, Walter and Dana Buster; a sister, Caroline Page and two brothers, Claude Foster and Alfred T. Buster.

    Early on, Dorothy worked as a waitress. Later she was a housekeeper and care giver. She loved flowers and gardening.

    Funeral services for Dorothy Filter will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Mike Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Dongola First Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
