Dorothy Dillow, age 83 of Anna died Friday, September 8, 2023 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. She was born April 22, 1940 in McClure, the daughter of Raymond Guy and Louise (Darnell) Hazel. She married Robert Gene “Bob” Dillow on August 22, 1958 in Ware. They shared 62 years of marriage before his passing on November 27, 2020.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, Robert Jr. (Johnna) Dillow of Titusville, FL and Kevin (Tracy) Dillow of Melbourne FL; grandchildren, Joni (Travis) Geske, Ginny Marks, Sarah (Landon) Combs and Beth Otto; great-grandchildren, Sabrina Geske, Charlie and Bowen Combs; sister, Tess Ford of DeSoto; brothers, Archie (Kathy) Hazel of Jonesboro, Les (Charlene) Hazel of Wentzville, MO and Gary (Pat) Ramshaw of Kansas City, MO; dear friend, Margaret Williams of Jonesboro; other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob Dillow; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brother, Faron Guy Hazel.
Dorothy was retired from the City of Jonesboro, working many years as a bookkeeper. Getting together with her friends was always a good time; she was active in the Pinochle Card Club for over 50 years. She enjoyed bingo and fellowship during lunch at the Sunshine Inn. Dorothy and Bob traveled extensively throughout the years, living in numerous places during his time in the Army. Family was always important to Dorothy, and she adored spending time with her grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at the Anna Cemetery with Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment will immediately follow. Everyone attending is asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sunshine Inn Senior Center. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery and the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
