Dale Boatright, age 70, of Anna passed away Monday, July 24, 2023 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born August 5, 1952, in Harrisburg, the son of Vernon Dale and Joann (Fiala) Boatright.
Dale is survived by Dee of Anna; his daughters, Michelle (Randy) Harris of Harrisburg, Heather Boatright of Anna, and Jennifer (Ben) Wetherington of Sullivan, Indiana; grandchildren, Makenzie (Tyler) Tuttle, Dylan McDowell, Jayden Boatright, Levi and Lili Wetherington; two great-grandchildren, Tex and Tayson Tuttle; Dee’s children, Olyvia (Glenn) Nelson of Karnak, Sylvia Grim of McClure, Grace Girtman of Anna, and Kyle English of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Ladell Pennington and Levi Nelson; sister, Karen (Bobby) Toler of Jonesboro; half-brother, Steven Oosterink of Bradenton, FL; cousins; nieces; nephew; great niece and nephews; other relatives and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his birth mother, Betty Turner; parents, Vernon and Joann Boatright; grandparents, Vernie and Nola Boatright; son, Jackie Dale Boatright; infant brother, Cecil Lee Boatright, sister, Lori Machelle Boatright, half-brother, Todd Oosterink; and half-sister, Dana Oosterink.
Dale worked many years in the coal mines, after retiring he joined IUOE Local 318 and worked as a heavy equipment operator. Dale enjoyed traveling to car shows, vacationing in the Smokey Mountains, and restoring antique cars. He was an avid car collector and enjoyed playing pool. Dale was a member of the Anna Masonic Lodge #520.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Ivan Ryan officiating. Interment will be in the North America Cemetery in Galatia. Friends may visit after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions are preferred to Shriner’s Hospital for Children or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
