Charles Lambdin Obituary

Charles R. Lambdin, age 88 of Anna, formerly of Wolf Lake, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born March 16, 1935 in Carbondale, the son of John S. and Esther “Essie” J. (Crane) Lambdin. On August 28, 1954, he married Viola Eastman at the First Methodist Church in Anna.

Charles was a member of the Wolf Lake Methodist Church. His life was the farm, although he retired at 54, his heart never left. Charles had an outstanding gift for aviation. He held multiple pilot certifications and was brave enough to fly over the Bermuda Triangle on his way to the Bahamas. Family vacations were very important to Charles; he loved to travel. After retirement, he and Viola travelled extensively, especially to Alaska and Canada. He enjoyed having coffee each morning with his friends and neighbors in the Bottoms. Charles was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His legacy will continue, and he will be dearly missed by so many.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Viola Lambdin; children, Deborah (Jim) Stockhausen of Manchester, MO, Diana (Bruce) Meyer of Parkville, MO, and Randall “Randy” Lambdin of Wolf Lake; seven grandchildren Lauren Stockhausen, Jennifer (Corey) Davis, Sara Stockhausen, Bradley Meyer, Matthew (Leni) Lambdin, Eric (Malori) Lambdin, and Aaron (Kendall) Lambdin; ten great-grandchildren, Aria Stockhausen, Avery Eisen, Aida and Alice Davis, and Emma, Owen, Clara, Henry, Ellie, Kate, and Carter Lambdin; sister, Joan Smith of Springfield, MO; six nieces; one nephew; other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Jessie Nolan and Judy Monroe, and a brother, Marvin Lambdin.
