Beverly (Bequeret) Garris-Rehberger

    Beverly Garris-Rehberger, age 89 of Marion, died Friday, July 21, 2023 at Herrin Hospital. She was born on October 25, 1933 in East St. Louis, Illinois, the daughter of Preston R. and Virginia H. (Anderson) Bequeret. In December 1955, she married Herbert L. Garris, Sr. She and Herb met while roller skating and often proudly remarked that they could waltz on skates. He preceded her in death on July 30, 1998. She later married Dr. Amos Rehberger. He preceded her in death on May 27, 2014.

    Beverly is survived by her children, Herbert L. (Debbie) Garris, Jr. and Kathy (Richard) Morales; grandchildren, Misty, Herbert “Lee” III, Jack Evan, Scott, Sara, Angela, Jennifer and Rachel; many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Payne; nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands and a daughter, Rebecca Witt.

    Beverly was an animal lover and a well-organized and dignified lady that was always well put together and refined. She retired after 20 plus years at the previous Charter Bank in Anna. After her retirement, she lived for many years in Brownsville, Texas. There she made many friends while participating in a local card club.

    Funeral services for Beverly Garris-Rehberger will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Interment will follow in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the service time at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
