Betty Jean Michaels Courtright, age 96 of Floyds Knobs, IN, formerly of Anna-Jonesboro, died Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN. She was born in Wolf Lake, the daughter of Harry Ralph and Minnie Elizabeth (Lanham) Michaels. She married David Courtright on April 11, 1942 in Jackson, MO. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2000.
Betty is survived by her three daughters, Beverly Darlene (Ronald) Johnson of Pulaski, Gail Jean Carr-Enlow of Floyds Knobs, IN, and Brenda Newton of Anna; four grandchildren, Ron Jr. (Carla) Johnson, Jason (Jeni) Carr, Adam (Deon) Carr and Tara Newton; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; two great-great-great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Courtright; and twelve siblings.
Betty was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Jonesboro. She enjoyed her time with the quilting club at the church where they met each week to quilt. She loved tending to her vegetable garden and spending wonderful time with all her family.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Pastor Bobbi Schultz officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may visit after 10:00 a.m. and until the service at 12:00 noon at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church in Jonesboro. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
