Zane Leon Smith

Zane L. Smith, age 26 of rural Dongola, died Friday, September 16, 2011 at his home. He was born on August 28, 1985 in Murphysboro, the son of Claude L. and Sandra Lee (West) Smith. Zane proudly served his country in the United States Army.Zane is survived by one son, Zachery Rain Smith of Cobden; his parents, Claude L. and Sandra Smith of Dongola; his maternal grandfather, Langley West of Dongola; three brothers, Tramps Smith, Jacob Smith and Ben Smith all of Dongola, other relatives and many friends.Funeral services for Mr. Zane Smith will be conducted at 11:00 am, Monday, September 19, 2011 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with the Rev. Jack Richardson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, September 19 from 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 11:00. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery in Dongola. Military Rites will be conducted by the Illinois National Guard Funeral Honors Team of Marion and the Carroll P. Foster VFW Post #3455 of Anna.
