Wilson L. Dover

Mr. Wilson L. Dover, age 70 of Rural Anna, died Saturday, November 11, 2017 in the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. He was born September 1, 1947 in Anna the son of Carl and Edna Lucille (Webb) Dover. He married Sharon Gibbons on June 30, 1992 in Paducah, KY. Wilson was a long time member of the Church of God. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for over twenty years, retiring as Master Sargent. He later went on to work as a correctional officer for the State of Illinois. Wilson was a life time member of the VFW, Moose Lodge, Anna Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He dearly loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Wilson is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Dover of Anna; mother, Edna Dover of Anna; son, Carl (Judy) Dover of Hebron, KY; step son, Bryan Harvell of Anna; step daughter, Shannon Palmier of Anna; grandchildren, Brett (Gina) Dover, Brandon (Alex) Dover, Brianne Dover; step grandson, Caleb Harvell; great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Ava, Preston, Paxton and Phoenix; one sister, Carla Sims of Anna. He is preceded in death by his father, Carl Dover. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Carl Dover officiating. Interment will be in the Casper Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Scott Air Force Base Honor Guard Military Funeral Honor Team. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Masonic rites will be conducted at 12:30 on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
