Mr. William Carl Shepard, age 73 of Jonesboro and Bushnell, FL, died at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 26, 1938 in Jonesboro, the son of Harry and Bea Boshell Shepard. He married Betty Holtzclaw on January 27, 1984 in Corinth, Mississippi. William is survived by his wife Betty Shepard of Jonesboro; two sons, Mike (Jill) Shepard of Boise, Idaho and Jim (Cheri) Shepard of Kuna, Idaho; one daughter, Donna (Ralph Kirby) Shepard of Spokane, Washington; two grandchildren; sister in law, Becky (Tammy) Holtzclaw of Nashville, Tennessee; brother in law, Charles Holtzclaw of McClure; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Glen and Donnie Shepard; and two sisters, Betty Smith and Pat Gibbs.William was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bushnell Florida for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force; he retired from the military after 20 years of service. William and Betty owned and operated Shep's Coroner at Berryville since 1985 selling produce during the summer months. Funeral service for Mr. William Carl Shepard will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Joe Aldridge officiating. Interment will be in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell Florida. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bushnell, Florida. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
