William "Bill" Morefield

William E. "Bill" Morefield, age 77 of Anna, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born on May 28, 1948 in Pomona, the son of Jesse and Rosella (Stearns) Morefield. He married Lois Janene (Marks) Boone on July 30, 2005. She preceded him in death on January 3, 2023.

Bill is survived by his children, Sean Morefield and Annie Morefield; stepchildren, Daniel (Glenda) Boone, Christie (Stephen) Frizzell, Carole (Kevin) Jordan and Carala (Scott) Hickam; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three sisters, one brother, nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is also survived by his many friends, especially those at the Voyage that knew him as 'Wild Bill". He was preceded in death by his wife, Janene Morefield, parents and sister, Kathy Fox.

Bill was an Eagle Scout and remained active in the Boy Scouts for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alto Pass. He was a public school teacher, working with students in the classroom for over 30 years. He enjoyed singing and playing his harmonica. According to the staff and his friends at the Voyage, Bill brought music back into their lives.

Graveside funeral services for William "Bill" Morefield will be held at 10:00 am Friday, August 29, 2025 at the Alto Pass Cemetery with Scott Hickam officiating. Interment will follow. Those who attend are asked to gather at the cemetery beginning at 9:30 am Friday, August 29, 2025. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to the Voyage Senior Living in Anna. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery and at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home.
