William Glen Goins

William Glen Goins, age 80 of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at his home. He was born March 5, 1940 in Villa Ridge, the son of Theadore T.D., Sr. and Hazel Lee (Windings) Goins. He married Jane Morris on September 26, 1990 in Paducah, KY. Glen is survived by his wife, Jane Goins of Jonesboro; children, Michael (Patricia) Goins of Cobden, Glenda (Randy) Little of Anna, Tracey (Tom) Smith of Anna, Kim (David) Prater of Anna, Leigh Burns of Jonesboro, and Daniel (Mandy) Page of Anna; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lucille (Tim) Tempke of Dongola, Joyce Cameron of Anna, Wilma (Jack) Roach of Anna, and Eddie (Donna) Goins of Dongola; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sons, Brian Goins and Steven Eugene Goins Jr.; sisters, Wanda Carson, Betty Schultz, and Cynthia White; brothers, Rev. Robert, Ted, and Gary Goins; grandsons, Steven Goins and Caleb Burns. Glen came from a large family and enjoyed getting together with all of them. He was a very loving person and especially loved being with his grandchildren. In his younger days he enjoyed being outdoors and hunting. He also enjoyed farming Angus cattle, as well as goats. He attended the Dongola Pentecostal Church. Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the Anna Cemetery with Pastor Lonnie Lewis officiating. Interment will immediately follow. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2020 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. All those attending are required to wear a face covering and observe social distancing guidelines. Maximum occupancy of the building will be 50 people at a time. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the cemetery.
