William Richard "Dicky" Tally

Mr. William Richard "Dicky" Tally, age 55, of Jonesboro, went home to live his life eternal on October 16, 2011. He was a Christian man of great faith and a friend to all who knew him. He was a loving husband, father and "Daddo". He was born September 5, 1956 in Cairo, the son of Jerry Donald and Rita Sue (Parker) Tally. He married his high school sweetheart, love of his life and best friend, Rhonda Vaughn on August 18, 1978. Together they enjoyed 33 wonderful years and were blessed with two children. Dicky is survived by his wonderful and loving wife, Rhonda Tally of Jonesboro; children, Nicki (Justin) Graham of Fayetteville, TN, Ryan (Jessie) Tally of Nashville, TN; two grandchildren, Jacob and Logan Graham of Fayetteville, TN; one brother, David (Ann) Tally of Jackson, MO; one sister, Mona (Craig) Wells of Cape Girardeau, MO; mother in law, Hazel (Bennett) Vaughn of Anna; brother in laws and sister in laws, Carla (Mike) Tally of Cobden, and Mike (Becky) Vaughn of Bethalto, IL; many nieces and nephews and a host of loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Mary Jeno Parker and Mark and Emma Tally; and father in law, Carl Eugene Vaughn Dicky held a Bachelors Degree from Southeast Missouri State University in Criminal Justice. He retired from Tamms Correctional Facility as a Lieutenant in 2008. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Cobden. He enjoyed playing his trumpet, singing at church and spending time with his family. He was also a member of the Union County Country Club where he loved playing golf with Duane Bierstedt and many other close friends. His smile and great passion for life reflected his love for people and his Lord, Jesus Christ. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Anna Heights Baptist Church in Anna. A celebration of Dicky's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, at the Anna Heights Baptist church with Rev. Scott Harner and Rev. Allen Speer officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the Jonesboro Cemetery with Rev. Allen Speer officiating.
