William Andrew "Andy" Pribble, 80, of Anna, formerly of Cobden, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at his home in Anna. He was born January 14, 1930 in Makanda, the son of John L. and Pearl Arteberry Pribble. He married Dorothy Mary Ballard in Cobden on December 22, 1951. She preceded him in death on July 20, 2008. Andy is survived by his one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah (Pribble) and Pat Hudgens of Elgin; three grandchildren, Liza Rynes Hood and husband, Jeff of Naperville, Meredith Suzanne Hudgens of Chicago and his name sake Andrew Ballard Hudgens of Chicago; his great grandson, named in his honor, Brenner Andin Hood; his brother Roy Pribble of Thompsonville; many nieces and nephews; and his church family. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; an infant son, Donald Andrew; his brothers, Robert, Edward, and Gene; and sister, Geneva Davis.He was a devoted husband to his wife, Dorothy, a loving father, and Papa and great Papa to his grandchildren and great grandchild who loved him dearly. Andy was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Cobden, serving as a trustee. He was an ironworker, Business Agent and President of Local 782. Andy proudly served his country in the Armed Forces. He was a member of the Cobden American Legion Post 259 and was a 56 year member and past Master of Cobden Masonic Lodge # 466 AF & AM. He was an avid golfer and member of the Union County Country Club in Anna and also devoted countless hours to First Baptist Church of Cobden.Services for Mr. William Andrew Pribble will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 24, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Cobden with Wes Wilkins and Andrew Ballard Hudgens officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery with military honors at the graveside by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the VFW in Anna and the Illinois National Guard Honor Team in Marion. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 23, 2010 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden and at the First Baptist Church in Cobden on Saturday from 9:30 am until the funeral hour. Masonic rites will be held at 8:00 pm Friday evening at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden by Cobden Masonic Lodge #466 AF & AM. Memorials may be made to the "B-Men" Group at First Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church.
