Wayne L Douglas

Wayne L. Douglas, age 86 of Anna, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 24, 1938, in Karnak, the son of Claud C. and Birdie (Bunch) Douglas. He married D. Darlene Eiselmeirer on May 1, 1960, in Cape Girardeau. They have shared over 64 wonderful years together.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Darlene Douglas; daughter, Tanya (Ted) Womick; grandsons, Tyler (Sara) Hess and Jacob (Allie) Hess; step-grandchildren, Jeremiah (Jodi) Womick and Jessie (Herman) Wells; great-grandchildren, Liam and Holden Hess; step great-grandchildren, Jack Womick, Sophia and Blake Wells; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lisa Hess; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde (Opal) Douglas, Raymond (Doris) Douglas and Clark (Laura) Douglas; sisters and brother-in-law, Lillian Douglas and Delphia (Steve) Hill.

Wayne was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Anna. He retired from Boilermakers Local 363 in March of 1998 after 30 plus years. He was a lifetime member of Anna-Jonesboro Elks Lodge 1641. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Wayne enjoyed turkey hunting and loved music and dancing. If you've been to Kiki's to listen to Steve and Eric, you've surely seen Wayne and Darlene dance.

Graveside funeral services for Wayne Douglas will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Anna Cemetery with Pastor Jason Holden officiating. Inurnment will follow. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of arrangements. A celebration of Wayne's life will be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the Anna-Jonesboro Elks Lodge, 427 E. Jefferson St., Anna, IL.  Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, the Alzheimer's Association or the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
