Mr. Waymon Eugene Belcher, age 85 of Wolf Lake, died at 11:48 am, Saturday April 25, 2015 at his home in Wolf Lake. He was born on July 25, 1929, the son of Alvin and Pearl (Hood) Belcher. He was united in marriage to Barbara Nadine Smith of Cobden on February 13, 1955 in Ware. Waymon is survived by his wife, Barbara Belcher of Wolf Lake; three children, Dan Belcher, Jill (Kingsley) Mainer and Diane J. Belcher all of Wolf Lake; four grandchildren, Travis (Jessica) Sexton of Cape Girardeau, MO, Mandi Clover (Brandon Bledsoe) of Olive Branch, Sgt. Clint (Chelsea) Clover of the U.S. Army Recruiting Office in Memphis, TN and LCPL Jordan Glasco of the U.S. Marines, stationed with Guard Company of Marine Barracks in Washington, D.C.; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Clover of McClure, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Pearl Belcher; four brothers, Earl, Ralph, Lloyd and Norman Belcher; three sisters, Bernice Hale, Alma Dubson and Mary Frogge. Waymon enjoyed being with his family and loved the family get-togethers, birthdays and holidays. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Waymon farmed all of his life up until his retirement in 1996. One of his greatest joys was raising,training and riding his Tennessee Racking horses. For many years he attended the nine-day Trail Ride in Golconda and the October ride of the cross country trail ride in Eminence, MO. He also spent many hours riding the trails in Southern Illinois and Southeast, Missouri. Funeral services for Mr. Waymon Eugene Belcher will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday April 28, 2015 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Brother Greg Etherton officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery with military funeral honors conducted at the graveside by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the VFW in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Funeral Honors Team of Marion. Friends may call from 5 until 8:00 pm on Monday April 27, 2015 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society of the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
