Wanda June Bowen

Wanda June Bowen, age 96 of Anna, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Manor Court of Carbondale. She was born on April 24, 1925 in Union County, the daughter of Lee and May (Brown) Dover. She married Robert Stanley East, Jr. on December 28,1941 in Jackson, Missouri. He was killed on March 25, 1945 while serving in the United States Army during World War II. On April 26, 1946, she married William Bowen in Chicago. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1994. She is survived by her children, Dennis Lee East, Judy Kay Bowen (Jim) Jerolds and William (Mary Ann) Bowen, Jr.; her grandchildren, Tim (Angie) Bowen, Amy (Kyle) Wheeler, Bradley (Byndi), Jacob, David and Terra Jerolds; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Emma and Olivia Bowen, Conner and Colton Jerolds, Jaylen Althoff, Emery and Nora Wheeler; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents and her siblings, Harry L., Carl H., Glen A. and Roy Dover, Mary E. Britt, Mabel Johnson and Ethel Hancock. Wanda was a member of the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Jonesboro as well as the Senior Circle. She loved to garden, cook and enjoyed lunches at the Sunshine Inn. Funeral services for Wanda Bowen will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Mark Goins officiating. Interment will follow at the American Legion Cemetery in Dongola. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday, October 6 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
