Mr. Walter William Zeschke, age 75 of Anna, died at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his home in Anna. He was born March 28, 1938 in Carbondale, the son of Walter and Marie Peters Zeschke. He married Alice Boone on October 5, 1956 in Holly Springs, Mississippi.

Walter is survived by his loving wife, Alice Zeschke of Anna; children, Walter (Lisa) Zeschke, James (Mary) Zeschke, John (Tammy) Zeschke all of Dongola, Lee Anne (Mike) Bryant of Anna, Peter Zeschke of Dongola; grandchildren, Rachel Rios of Anna, Jill (Larry) Gore of Jonesboro, Alicia Zeschke of Anna, Andrea Lambert of Jackson, MO., Stephanie Zeschke and Adam Zeschke both of Olive Branch, Brent Zeschke and Brandon Zeschke both of Dongola, Bradley (Lindsay) Zeschke of Olive Branch, Erica Zeschke of Dongola, Taylor Bryant of Cape Girardeau, MO., Mackenzie Bryant of Anna, Alex Zeschke, Austin Zeschke, and Addison Zeschke all of Dongola; great grandchildren, Jason Rios and Riley Rios both of Anna, Logan Gore of Jonesboro, Colton Lambert, and Easton Lambert both of Jackson, MO, Sophie Quesenberry of Olive Branch and Brynleigh Zeschke of Olive Branch; sister, Luana Wunsh of Kankakee; nieces Carmen (Toby) Rhine of Anna, and Debra Bollhorst of Lewisburg, KY., other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Geraldine Zeschke, Audrey Bollhorst, and Marie Zebrun; and one brother, Wayne Zeschke.

Walter was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Anna. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service Mail Train, following that he was a trooper for the Illinois State Police for several years, an officer at the Tri-County Detention Center and a Bailiff for the Union County Sheriff's Department. He was an avid Cubs fan, liked playing cards and polka music.

Funeral services for Mr. Walter William Zeschke will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Anna with Pastor Tim Weiser officiating. Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna and after 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna and at the church.
