Viola Lambdin, age 87 of Anna, formerly of Wolf Lake, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the Villas of Jackson in Jackson, Missouri. She was born on November 29, 1936 in Anna, the daughter of Wilbert and Agnes (Smith) Eastman. She married Charles Lambdin on August 28, 1954 at the First Methodist Church in Anna. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2024.
Viola is survived by her children, Deborah (Jim) Stockhausen of Manchester, MO, Diana (Bruce) Meyer of Parkville, MO, and Randall "Randy" Lambdin of Wolf Lake; grandchildren Lauren Stockhausen, Jennifer (Corey) Davis, Sarah Stockhausen, Bradley Meyer, Matthew (Leni) Lambdin, Eric (Malori) Lambdin, and Aaron (Kendall) Lambdin; great-grandchildren, Aria Stockhausen, Avery Eisen, Aida and Alice Davis, and Emma, Owen, Clara, Henry, Ellie Kate, and Carter Lambdin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her parents and her siblings, Baxter Burdell Eastman, Inella Sue Eastman, Imogene Agnes Eastman, Wilberta Eastman-Morrison and Evan V. Eastman.
Viola was a faithful and active member of the Wolf Lake Community Church, often teaching Bible school. She graduated from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School in 1954. While in high school, she played the flute in the marching band.
Viola was incredibly proud of the home she and Charles built. She was a fantastic homemaker, keeping her home in pristine condition. She was a brilliant cook and wonderful wife and mother. She saw to her family's every need all while keeping a full-time job outside the home. Through the years, she worked as a secretary and bookkeeper at Trojan Powder Company (Dyno Nobel) and Shawnee High School. She also worked as a teller at the First National Bank in Grand Tower. She was a confident, professional woman taking pride in her job both at home and at work. She and Charles loved to travel, especially their trips to Alaska and Canada.
Funeral services for Viola Lambdin will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the Wolf Lake Community Church with Rev. Jack Thornton and Rev. Dr. Steve Pulis officiating. Interment will follow in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at Noon on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the church. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to the National Park Service Foundation or the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available at the church.
