Victor Allen Tucker

September 27, 1945 — August 10, 2022

Buncombe, Illinois

Victor Allen Tucker was born in Jonesboro, Illinois on September 27, 1945. On August 10, 2022 he left this plane to go find his wife, Georgianna, and tell her again how much he loves her and has missed her since she left us all just under two years ago. He just had to wait for the right time. The son of Claude L. and Tressie A., he is survived by his son, his brother, and many nieces and nephews who now are into three generations past him, some of whom will get to remember him.

He was a respected man who knew how to figure out a problem and solve it. Few crafts and artistic endeavors were out of his grasp, and he loved to improve his home in improvising ways to make life more comfortable for his family. He was also the type of father that did happen to once travel half way around the world to catch a very important baseball game his son was playing in, even though he had to go back the next day.

One of his greatest contributions to the world however, was risking his life as a crew chief to C-130 Hercules aircraft during the Vietnam War, keeping supplies going in, and the injured coming out. He was proud of helping and serving the way he did, and he also hoped that war would not be necessary any more.

He died well in the home he built with his own hands, and those of his beloved family and friends, hands that held his when he passed. He was complicated and interesting, and a lot more could be said but he would rather tell you himself. He was loved and will be missed, but the things he has taught, and the love and generosity he has given will live on.
