Mrs. Velma G. Tucker, age 93 of Jonesboro, died at 1:54 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at her daughter's home in Plano, TX. She was born May 25, 1921 in Carterville, the daughter of James Sheridan Philip and Laura Matilda Hooker Clardy. She married Clifton C. Tucker on December 10, 1945 in Anna. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2003. Velma is survived by her son, Vernon (Cindy) Tucker of Anna; one daughter, Darla (David) Corzine of Plano, Texas; three grandchildren, Pamela Holder, Barbara Tucker and Dustin Corzine; two great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Goldie Woods of Jonesboro; daughter in law, Patricia Tucker of Red Bud; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifton C. Tucker; one son, Clifton Deon Tucker; two grandchildren, Brian Tucker and DeLeigh Corzine; three brothers and four sisters. Velma was a member of the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Jonesboro. She was a servant to her Lord and was very active in the church and Senior Circle. Family was important to Velma, she dearly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved gardening, growing flowers and taking pictures of beautiful things. Funeral services for Mrs. Velma G. Tucker will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 in the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Jonesboro with Rev. Mark Goins officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna and at the church.
