Tracy "Wally" Cates

     Tracy “Wally” Cates, age 61 of Anna passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, May 5, 2026. He was born December 10, 1964 in Anna, the son of Edward Gene and Carolyn (Crowell) Cates.

     Tracy is survived by his daughter, Jessica Cates (Bryan Todd) of Anna; two stepdaughters, Laura (John) Livingston of Olive Branch and Tory Dodson of Thebes; two grandchildren, Jamie Ford and Creighton Todd; two brothers, Jeff (Kim) Cates of Anna and Patrick (Laura) Cates of Cobden; special niece, Samantha Cates (fiancé, Ethan Kirkman); many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; several aunts and uncles.

     Tracy was a great dad and wonderful grandfather. He never missed an opportunity to make a joke or aggravate anyone around. He enjoyed listening to rock music, going fishing, camping and cooking. It’s been said he made the best BLT sandwiches around. Tracy was a talented artist; he loved to draw and sketch.

     Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2026 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. LaRue Parr officiating. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. and until the service at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
