Thomas M. Hanney Jr.

Mr. Thomas M. Hanney Jr. age 71 of Jonesboro, died at 1:05 a.m. Sunday, September 22, 2013 in the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born January 7, 1942 in Pottsville, PA, the son of Thomas and Emma Bowen Hanney. He married Glenda Womack on May 27, 2003 in Paducah, KY. Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Glenda Hanney of Jonesboro; two sons, Tim (Linda) Hanney, Tracy (Stacey) Hanney, two daughters, Tammy (Rick) Williams and Debbie Dubois all of Anna; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Flossie Starr, Bobbie Hein and Georgine Heffron all of PA; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two wife's, Katie Hanney and Shirley Hanney; one son, Tommy Hanney; and one daughter in law, Charlene Hanney. Thomas was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic in Anna. He worked many years as a truck driver. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Thomas was a life member of the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna, and was a legion member of the Anna Moose. Funeral services for Mr. Thomas M. Hanney Jr. will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Father Federico Higuera officiating. Interment will be in the St. John's Cemetery in Dongola. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honors Team of Marion. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. The rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the V.F.W. or the Mooseheart. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
