Ted Goins Jr.

Ted Goins Jr., age 89 of Jonesboro, died Thursday, June 20, 2019 in Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau. He was born April 11, 1930 in Downers Grove, the son of Ted "T.D." and Hazel Lee (Windings) Goins Sr. He married Susie Ray in Murphysboro and she preceded him in death on October 15, 2011. Ted is survived by his children, Kevin (Heather) Goins, Peggy (Bill) Gurley, Tim Goins, and Jeff Goins all of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Flonell) Goins of Anna, Glen (Jane) Goins of Jonesboro, and Eddie (Donna) Goins of Dongola; sisters, Joyce Cameron of Anna, Lucille (Leonard) Temke of Dongola, and Wilma (Jack) Roach of Anna, many relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Susie (Ray) Goins; his parents; three sisters, Wanda Carson, Cynthia White, and Betty Schultz; and one brother, Gary Goins. Ted proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed having coffee with his family every Tuesday at McDonalds. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 in the Dongola United Pentecostal Church with Rev. John Gourley officiating. Graveside military rights will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Illinois National Guard Military Honors Team of Marion. Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:30 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019 in the Dongola United Pentecostal Church.
