Steven Ronald Foster

    Steven Ronald Foster, 63, of Dongola, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and the people who loved him dearly. He was born on August 28, 1962, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Ronald and Betty (Staskawicz) Foster.

    From 1979 to 1982, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, Steven dedicated more than 20 years of his life to working for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was a hardworking man who found some of his greatest happiness in the simple things in life. He loved fishing, especially the time spent on the water with his grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling, cooking, and creating memories with his family.

    Steven is survived by his daughter, Sammantha Thorson (Dusty); his beloved grandchildren, Lacie Goines and Wyatt Goines; his mother, Betty Foster; sister, Jodi Foster Houston and brother, Shawn Foster (Michelle). His family was a special part of his life, and the memories they made together will be treasured forever. He was preceded in death by his father.

    Steven will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on through the stories they share, the meals he prepared, the places they traveled, and the countless special moments he shared with those he loved.

    Inurnment with military honors will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois at a later date. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of arrangements.

    Rest peacefully, Steven. You will always be loved, always remembered, and forever missed.
