Stanley James Carr Sr. age 66 of Anna, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Sunday, September 11, 2022. He was born July 22, 1956 in Cairo, the son of James Palmer and Lela Faye (Abney) Carr. He married Sarah Sandusky on November 1, 1983 in Charleston, MO.
Stanley is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Carr of Anna; fur babies, Bear and Hamie; children, Jamie (Cody) Reed of Sikeston, MO, Sonya (Jeff) Mayberry of Caruthersville, MO, Kim Wicker of PA, Alexandria Davis of Karnak; grandchildren, Cody, Sabrina, Addie, J.P., Austin, Vincent, Lydia, Marsha, Desire, Tori, Alexandria, Hannah, Hailey, Nathan and Trevor; great-grandchildren, Tamra, Sophie, Leilani, Serena, Colton and three more on the way; brother, Charles William (Becky) Carr of Belknap; sister, Susan Nottage of Goreville; sister in law, Brenda (Darrell) Stallings of Charleston, MO; other relatives and many friends.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; son, Stanley James Carr Jr.; sister, Sheila Tybo; brothers, Paul, Jesse and Wayne Carr.
Stanley was retired from Steward Steel in Sikeston, MO where he worked twenty two years as a welder. He was a devoted member of the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Jonesboro where he served as board member and bus driver. He was a loving husband and a faithful man of God. Stanley was always willing to help others. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and going fishing.
The family would like to thank the Union County Ambulance Service for all their care and compassion over the years, the Anna Fire Department and Residential Hospice for their kindness during the last few days.
A celebration of Stanley's life will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Jonesboro with Pastor Mark Goins officiating. Interment will be in the Ullin Cemtery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service at 1:00 on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are asked to be made to the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle Envelopes will be available at the church and the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
