Sidney Lee Myers, age 69 of East Cape, died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, July 24, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving wife, children and family. He was born in Anna, on July 17, 1947 the son of Sidney Amos and Floetta Mae (Farmer) Myers. He grew up in Wolf Lake, and graduated Shawnee High School in 1965 and then attended a vocational tech school in Mattoon, Illinois. Sidney was general manager at Florshiem Shoe Factory in Cape Girardeau, MO until his retirement. He later worked part time at Heartland Care and Rehabilitation Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. His favorite pastime was fishing with friends and playing the lead guitar and back up vocalist with local country bands, and Tuesday night picking guitars with friends at Dave Newells home. Sidney married Mickie Dallas on April 26, 1968 in Alto Pass. Into this union was born a son, Scott and a daughter, Amber. He is survived by his loving wife, Mickie Dallas Myers of East Cape; his son, Scott C. (JoEllen) Myers of Jonesboro; one daughter, Amber L. Myers (Frank) Martin of East Cape; six grandsons, Scott & wife (Alicia), Dalton, Hunter, Austin, Cooper and Carson; two granddaughters, Maddison "Baby Girl" and Ellie "Baby Doll"; one great granddaughter, Raelynn and one step-great grandson, Kamedyn; one brother Dennis (Joanie) Myers of Jonesboro; three sisters, Shirley (Mike) Smith of Jonesboro, Phyllis (Terry) Umfeet of Advance, MO and Marsha Seabaugh of Advance, MO.; two brother-in-law's, Gordon Dallas and Rayburn Dallas of Granite City, IL.; one sister-in-law, Darlene Scronce of Cobden, IL, numerous nieces and nephews, special fishing buddies, Willie (Janet) Orsburn, Jim (Annabelle) Turner and Frank (Amber) Martin; son, Scott and (JoEllen) and grandsons. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sidney & Floetta Myers and one sister, Carol Yvonne Rogers. Funeral services for Sidney Lee Myers will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Billy Carter officiating. Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
