Shirley Ann Smith

    Shirley Ann Smith, age 76 of Jonesboro, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2026 at Deaconess Illinois Union County Hospital. She was born on April 15, 1950 in Grand Tower, the daughter of Sidney and Floetta (Farmer) Myers. She married Michael Smith on April 18, 1968. He preceded her in death on February 16, 2026.

    Shirley is survived by her sons, Tony Smith and Matt (Robin) Smith; grandchildren, Alycia (Eric)Ellet, Kelsie Hand, Noah Smith, Justin Smith, Kajayah Clark, Kinsee Smith, Briley Smith, Toby Smith and Wynter Smith; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Dennis Myers, Phyllis Myers and Marcia Seabaugh; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law, LaNell Smith and siblings, Sidney Myers and Vonnie Rogers.

    Shirley loved her family and her church family at Faith Assembly Church in Wolf Lake. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with those she loved.

    The family of Shirley Smith will host a celebration of her life. The location, date and time will be announced when plans are finalized. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
