Shirley I. Bennett

Shirley Imogene (Sheffer) Bennett, 86, of Ooltewah, TN, moved into the presence of the Lord on July 15, 2021. She was born on August 14, 1934 in Dongola, Illinois the daughter of Aaron and Rosetta Sheffer. She married Joseph Bennett on November, 14 1952. He preceded her in death on June 23, 2002. She is survived by four sons, Steve (Robin) of Ooltewah, TN, Phil (Barb) of Sweetwater, TN, Tim (Virginia) of Huntley, IL, and Mike (Debra) of Lexington, SC; two sisters, Rosemary Opperman of Vienna, MO and Lois Smith of Anna, IL; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were Joseph Bennett, her husband of almost fifty years; Shelia Bennett, an infant daughter; and a grandson, Seth Bennett. Graveside funeral services for Shirley Bennett will be conducted at 11:00a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Illinois with her son, Steve, officiating. Interment will follow. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna is in charge arrangements. For anyone wishing to remember Shirley with a memorial, gifts may be given to the Gideons.
