Sheila Ann Middleton, age 69 of Anna, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Deaconess Medical Center in Marion. She was born June 9, 1956 in Anna, the daughter of Russell and Ann (Salyers) Middleton.
She was a 1974 graduate of AJCHS. She loved playing in the band. She also played 1st base for the AJ Stars softball team in the 70’s, Sheila always had wonderful stories and memories from those days.
Sheila worked at the Union County Probation office and later at SIU until her retirement. She enjoyed landscaping and working in the yard. Sheila was a member of the Anna Heights Baptist Church for many years. She was a talented gospel singer and was Vestal Goodman’s biggest fan. She was an avid Duke Blue Devil fan and was always “coaching” along with Coack K.
Sheila is survived by her father, Russell Middleton of Anna; brother, Alan Middleton of Cobden; sister, Lisa Tripp of Buncombe; niece Jessica Ann Royce; nephews, Cameron Golladay and Michael Tripp; two wonderful lifelong friends, Rhonda Brummit and Judy Miller, who both loved her very much and gave her the best care; many other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Middleton.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2026 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Interment will follow at the Anna Cemetery. Friends may call after 12:00 noon and until the service at 1:00 p.m. Friday February 6, 2026 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to Anna Heights Baptist church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
