Sharon Kay (Aden) Hunter

Sharon Hunter, age 79 of Dongola, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022 at her home. She was born on April 1, 1943 in Anna, the daughter of Lester "Buck" and Wilma (Wright) Aden. She married Robert Hunter on July 8, 1976 in Anna. He preceded her in death on August 10, 2012.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Sonya (Billy) Colson of Vienna; five grandchildren, Courtney (Austin Dollins) Bigham, Zachary (Makenzie) Bigham, B.J. (Shelby) Colson, Zachary (Courtney) Colson and Rachael (Brandon) Melcher; nine great-grandchildren; her in-laws, Barry and Betty Hunter, Cecil and Donna Hunter and Lillian Hunter; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Tobin Hunt.

Sharon was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Dongola. She was very active in her church and enjoyed bible study. She belonged to the church's quilting group. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Sharon was competitive and enjoyed playing games with friends and family. One of her favorite things was beating her daughter and son-in-law at Phase 10.

Funeral services for Sharon Hunter will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Bill Littrell officiating. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery west of Dongola. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions can be made to the Dongola Lutheran Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
