He married the love of his life Jodi Rosenthal on June 3, 1995 at Galilee Baptist Church in Wolf Lake, Illinois. This year they celebrated their 31st anniversary.

Scott worked for Chamness Care, Inc. for 13 years where they treated him like family. In 2021 he helped get MAP CDS ready to open. He had a special bond with each of his clients, he also made a lifetime friendship with Beverly, Tasha and his coworkers. They all held a special place in his heart. Scott served on the Ware-Wolf Lake Fire Department for 19 years, where he served as Captain.
Scott loved life to the fullest. He loved his family with everything he had. He would drop anything at the drop of a hat to be there for them. Scott took the title Poppy wholeheartedly, his grandbabies were his pride and joys. He loved them and they loved every ounce of him back.
