Russell Eugene Kee

    Russell Eugene Kee, age 54 of Jonesboro, died Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Manor Court of Carbondale. He was born October 26, 1971 in Murphysboro to Stanley and Pamela (Smith) Kee. He married Tina Hansil on May 29, 2021.

    Russell attended Anna-Jonesboro High School. He worked for the State of Illinois tree nursery for many years and later worked for Transcraft until their closing. Russell was an avid outdoorsman, arrowhead and Big Foot hunter. For sure, he was going to catch Big Foot.

    Russell loved his family and friends, and he loved music. He had a heart of gold. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

    Russell is survived by his wife, Tina Kee; step-children, Rachel Tripp, Elizabeth Turner, and Jessica Hansil; grandchildren, Kensie Turner, Connor Stanley, Rylynn Turner, Easton Turner, Axle Hansil; sister, Laura (Shelly) Webb; nieces and nephews, Nathan Webb, Clayton Miller Webb, Christy Poe, Andy Outland, Gunner Kee, Brandon Scronce; several great nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, Diana Reynolds, Rhonda Watkins, Harold (Barb) Smith, Shirley Smith, Lisa Smith, and Bob Kee. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Kee; nephew, Dalton Kee; uncle, Mike Smith, and beloved dog (and only son) Finus. Russell will be greatly missed and loved by all.
