Russell Lynn Friese

Mr. Russell Lynn Friese, age 97 of Anna, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2012 at his home in Anna. He was born August 1, 1914 in Alto Pass, the youngest of nine children to William August and Mary Ellen Finch Friese. Russell married Kathryn Wolters of Jackson, Missouri. She preceded him in death on August 7, 1981. Russell is survived by a son, Michael Lynn (Beverly)Friese of Urbana, one daughter, Julie Karen (John) Davis of Goreville; four grandchildren, Joelle McCulley of Champaign, April Stevens of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, Amy Davis of Goreville, Craig Davis of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; seven great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Kathryn Friese.Russell was a member of the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Anna. During his life he served in several leadership positions at the Church. Russell proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army in WWII. He was a member of the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna. Funeral services for Mr. Russell Lynn Friese will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Randy Carstens officiating. Interment will be in the Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau, Missouri with military rites conducted at the graveside by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the VFW of Anna and the Illinois National Guard Funeral Honors Team of Marion. Friends may call from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
