Ruie M. Keenan

Mrs. Ruie M. Keenan, age 92, of Anna, died Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 3:35 p.m. in Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. She was born August 25, 1922 in Dongola, the daughter of Ernest Clyde and Ida Lingle McIntosh. She married Robert G. Keenan on October 5, 1940 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death on September 19, 1986. Ruie is survived by her daughter, Sharolyn (Ronald) Hill of Creal Springs; one sister, Matella Tucker of Jonesboro; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert G. Keenan; and one sister, Ataleen Wortman. Ruie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anna. She worked many years as a waitress at the Southern Bar B Q in Anna. She was a graduate of the Anna-Jonesboro Class of 1939 and a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Funeral services for Mrs. Ruie M. Keenan will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Joe Aldridge officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
