Mrs. Rosetta A. Rhymer, age 90 of Anna, died at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 at her daughter's home in Anna. She was born November 11, 1924 in Elco, the daughter of George Sr. and Myrtle Dickerson Carter. Rosetta is survived by her children, Mary (Lacie) Betts of Tamms, Peggy (Paul) Roberts of Wood River, IL, Barbara Rhymer of Anna, Terry (Meiko) Rhymer of Okinawa, Japan, Jimmie Rhymer Jr. of Anna, and Phillip Jay (Debra) Rhymer of Anna; ten grandchildren, Sally Betts, James Betts, Carol Ann Roberts, Sonia Rhymer, Chikako Merrill, Jimmy (Junko) Rhymer, Robert (Makeysa) Rhymer, Chris Rhymer, Bradley (Patty) Rhymer, and Amy Rhymer; nine great grandchildren, Curt Goins, Nathan (Jill) Betts, Racheal Betts, Brandon Rhymer, Kaimona Merrill, Jay Taiga Rhymer, Leah Rhymer, Weston Rhymer, and Landon Rhymer; six great-great grandchildren, Lacie Goins, Wyatt Goins, Camiah Lowe, Kegan Betts, Callie Betts, and Eykes Merrill; one sister; Janet Starr of Jonesboro; brothers in law, Howard (Linda) Dover of Thebes, and Alfred (Charlotte) Dover of Olive Branch, Floyd (Phyllis) Dover of Charleston, MO; sisters in law, Beverly (Bud) McHarry of Thebes, Ladonna Carter of Anna and Hazel Carter of Elco; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant sons, Gary and David Rhymer; four brothers, Hoover Carter, Frank Carter, George Carter Jr., and Wayne Carter; and one sister, Virgie Baker. Rosetta was of the Baptist Faith. She was an avid bingo player, and enjoyed quilting. Rosetta retired from Choate Mental Health and Development Center after thirty-two years of service in dietary and as a mental health technician. Funeral services for Mrs. Rosetta A. Rhymer will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Lacie Betts officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
