Mrs. Rosetta Brown, age 98 of Anna, died at 6:00 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 in the Anna Rehab and Care Center. She was born October 21, 1914 in Anna, the daughter of Luther D. and Laura E. Treece Anderson. She married Ralph Brown on July 19, 1953 in Jonesboro. He preceded her in death on June 7, 1994. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Martin of Houston, Texas; one son, Lowell (Dorothy) Mainer of Godfrey, IL; one step-son, Gerald (Betty) Brown of Jonesboro; one step-daughter, Sharon (Bob) Hott of Springfield; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph Brown; three sisters, Leta Norris, Margaret Carrington and Luetta Kelley; one brother and sister in law, Paul (Pat) Anderson; son in law, Tom Martin; one grandson, Tommy Martin; and one great granddaughter, Kristen Mainer. Rosetta was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she was an excellent cook, seamstress and accomplished gardener in both vegetables and flowers. In her younger years she worked for the Shoe Factory in Anna, the Ordinance Plant during WWII and later she worked for Dr. Harry Shafer as a dental assistant. She spent many hours working as a volunteer at local nursing homes. Funeral services for Mrs. Rosetta Brown will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Jonesboro with Pastor David Eidson and Rev. Nancy Jo Schmidt officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:30 and until the service hour at 1:30 p.m. at the Salem Lutheran Church in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Lutheran Church. Envelopes will be available at the church and at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
