Mrs. Rose Marie Hessling, age 83 of rural Anna, died at 7:58 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2017 in the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born October 7, 1934 in Evergreen Park, the daughter of Nicholas and Rose Marie (Hug) Kronenberger. She married Harry James Hessling on November 22, 1952 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2008. Rose Marie is survived by her four children, Sharon D. Erickson of Oak Lawn, Harry (Beth) Hessling of Leland, Linda Smith of Lisle, and Diane (Donald) Williams of Anna; ten grandchildren, Richard A. (Rhonda) Erickson, Karrie L. (Scott) Cummings, Jenny (Eric) Vanleirsburg, Jason (Amanda) Hessling, Walter (Danielle) Powers, Bradley Geschke, Wesley and Samantha Smith, Daniel and Nicholas Williams; thirteen great-grandchildren, Nicole and Cody L. Erickson, Amber Wheeler (fiancé Cas Siler), Brandon Wheeler, Jackson T. Cummings, Shayla Vanleirsburg, Lily Hessling, Tyler, Zander, and Travis Hessling, Kenneth, Joshua and Travis Powers; three great-great grandchildren, Faith Erickson, Paisley and Chase Siler; one sister, Carol (Donald) Cummings of Chicago Ridge; many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry James Hessling; son in law, Richard Erickson; three brothers and sisters in law, John (Anne) Kronenberger, Joseph (Anne) Kronenberger, and Paul (Sara) Kronenberger; three sisters and two brothers in law, Dorothy Kronenberger, Elizabeth (Bern) Jiricek, and Kathryn (Bruno) Grzybyski. Rose Marie was a devoted mother and grandmother. She lived her life for her family. Her home was always host to family gatherings, reunions and their frequent themed get togethers. She dearly loved to cook and wanted to make sure no one left her home hungry. Rose Marie also enjoyed sewing and gardening in her spare time. She will be warmly remembered by everyone who knew her. Funeral services for Rose Marie Hessling will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Jerry King officiating. Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 2:00 p.m. on Friday October 20, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
