Ronald Joseph Stolz, age 90 of Alto Pass, died Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. He was born April 30, 1935 in Evansville, IN, the son of Carl and Lucy (Head) Stolz. Ronald married Carol Merkley on December 27, 1957 in Evansville, IN. They have shared over 68 years of marriage.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Carol Stolz; son, Ron (Tracy) Stolz, Jr.; daughters, Terri Addison, Vicki (Jim) Swick, Jenni (Bob) McClain, and Angi VanZandt; grandchildren, David Addison, Ryan Addison, Elena Jamscek, Rachael Anderson, Austin McClain, Tara Stolz, and Jenna VanZandt; great-grandchildren, Novak Jamscek, Nadia Jamscek, Rylee Addison, and Dylan Eovaldi; sister, Betty Clark; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lucy Stolz, brother, Eugene Stolz, and sister, Wilma Jean Minnette.
Ronald enjoyed being outdoors. He looked forward to activities such as fishing, riding around on his 4-wheeler, or bird feeding. In his earlier years, he liked to race cars. He was employed as a senior electronics engineer at Olin Corporation for over 25 years. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ronald was loved by everyone; he had a kind and gentle soul. He will be dearly missed.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2026 at the Alto Pass Cemetery. Interment will immediately follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery and the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home.
