Ronald R. Smith

Ronald R. Smith, of Cape Girardeau, MO, formerly of Anna, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at age 74. He was born September 25, 1943 in Mill Creek, the son of Harold and Edna (Wright) Smith. He married Peggy Poole on May 26, 1961 in Mill Creek. Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Peggy Smith of Cape Girardeau, MO; son, Donald Smith of Whitewater, MO; daughters, Sheila "Sis" (David) McKee of Dongola, Pam (Rick) Bueter of Glennon, MO, Tamra (Ken) Riley of Huntsville, AL, Jenna (Shell) Duskey of Dongola; fourteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley (Jim) Vines and Shielda Wheaton all of Anna; other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; step father, Frank Wheaton; twin brother, Donald "Tex" Smith.Ronald worked for Procter & Gamble for many years before retiring. He was known as "The Man with a Plan".Funeral services for Ronald R. Smith will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Charles Ferris & Richard Webb officiating. Interment will be in the St. Johns Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
