Ronald L. Gorst

Mr. Ronald L. Gorst Sr., age 70 of Dongola, died at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. He was born June 28, 1943 in Elco, the son of Robert Sloan Wright and Ilean Jordan. He married Barbara Jean Ochs on July 23, 1962 in Waukegan, Illinois. She preceded him in death on October 30, 1993. Ronald is survived by his children, Sherry (Cory) Haines of Ocean Springs, MS, Wendy (Jason) Beake of Jonesboro, Ronald "Ron" (Mary) Gorst Jr. of Dongola, Randy Gorst of Dongola; six grandchildren, Cassie (Jacob) Borba, Derek (Alicia) Schoenherr, Douglass Schoenherr, Nathan Haines, Cassondra Gorst, Barbara Gorst; three great grandchildren, Aspen Borba, Dominick and Ayden Schoenherr; two sisters, Marcy (Cecil) Freeman and Beverly Gorst of Branyik, IL; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Barbara Jean Gorst. Funeral services for Mr. Ronald L. Gorst Sr. will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 15, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Bobby Richardson officiating. According to his wishes he will be cremated. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Northshore Garden of Memories in North Chicago, Illinois. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 15, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
