Rodney Wright

Mr. Rodney Eugene Wright, age 57 of Jonesboro, died at 6:32 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born January 21, 1958 in Anna, the son of Everett and Blanch Mathis Wright. Rodney is survived by his children, Michel (Shelly) Wright of Anna, Crystal (Bumper) Gurley of Alto Pass, and Kristen Rendleman of Anna; mother, Blanch Wright of Anna; grandchildren, Mallory Wright of Pontiac, Drew Gurley of Alto Pass, Tyler Cole of Jonesboro, John Robert Wright of Anna; beloved friend, Teri Clarke of Jonesboro; one sister, Darla Wright (Henry Decker) of Anna; one brother, Everett "Junior" (Vickie) Wright of Spokane, WA; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father. Rodney was a 1976 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro Community High School. He retired from Columbia Quarry where he worked for twenty years. He owned and operated Wright Brothers and Rod's Towing for over thirty years and was a member of the Union County Rescue Squad. Rodney loved his family, towing, working, racing, collecting classic cars, playing softball, and helping others in need in the community. Rodney had a heart as big as the sky and will be missed by many. Funeral services for Mr. Rodney Eugene Wright will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Pastor Randy Wheaton and Brother Bill Carter officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
